Production of tee
Tee also known as pipe tee or tee pipe fittings, tee joints, etc. Mainly used to change the direction of the fluid, used in the main pipe to branch. It can be classified by pipe diameter. Generally, it is made of carbon steel, cast steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, copper, aluminum alloy, plastic, argon, PVC and other materials.
The tee can be divided into two types according to the process, hydraulic bulging and hot pressing.
The hydraulic bulging of tee is a forming process of expanding branch pipe by axial compensation of metal material. The process is to use a special hydraulic press to inject liquid into the tube blank with the same diameter as the tee, and extrude the tube blank through two horizontal side cylinders of the hydraulic press synchronously, the volume of the tube blank becomes smaller after extrusion, and the pressure of the liquid in the tube blank increases with the volume of the tube blank becoming smaller. When the pressure required for the expansion of the tee branch is reached, the liquid pressure in the side cylinder and the tube blank of the metal material is double. Under the heavy action, the branch pipe flows along the inner cavity of the mold and expands.
Hot press forming of tee is to flatten the tube blank larger than the tee diameter to the size of tee diameter, and open a hole at the position of drawing branch pipe; the tube blank is heated, put into the forming die, and put into the stamping die of drawing branch pipe; under the effect of pressure, the tube blank is compressed radially, in the process of radial compression, the metal flows towards the branch pipe and forms the branch pipe under the drawing of the stamping die. The whole process is formed by the radial compression of the tube blank and the drawing of the branch pipe. Different from the hydraulic expansion tee, the metal of hot pressed tee branch is compensated by the radial movement of tube blank, so it is also called radial compensation process.
